Warming Centers Are Open Now To Provide Respite from Cold Weather
NEWS YOU CAN USE!The 36th District Court will launch a courtwide amnesty program beginning March 9, 2026, giving people a limited window to resolve outstanding court debt without paying additional penalties.The program runs through April 2, 2026. During that time, individuals who pay the original fines and costs owed will have late fees, penalties, and warrant costs fully waived.According to the court, the amnesty applies to all adjudicated cases with assessed fines and costs. Driver’s license reinstatement fees are not included.Chief Judge William C. McConico said, “This amnesty program provides individuals with a meaningful opportunity to resolve outstanding court debt without the added burden of late fees and warrant costs. Our goal is to remove financial barriers and help members of our community move forward.
