Bianca’s New Beginning

Alcohol had had a place in Bianca’s life for decades. It was a way to relax and have fun with friends . . . until the day it wasn’t fun anymore. She had overindulged before. But this time, she was ill and could not stop the shakes that rattled her bones. Nor could she stop the voice in her head that was screaming, “I don’t want to live like this! I don’t want to die like this!”
Desperate to break the hold alcohol had on her life, Bianca followed the advice of a friend who had heard good things about the lifesaving, life-changing programs found at DRMM.
Still, it took everything Bianca had to walk through the Mission doors that first day and ask for help. But after that, it was easy because Bianca saw God’s love everywhere she turned. “All the women, they welcomed me. The staff was nice; everybody was nice,” Bianca says with a smile.
And she was thrilled to learn that DRMM is a place where addiction is faced head-on in a Christ-centered environment—and where the tools and encouragement are available for people to overcome and learn to live a sober life.
Bianca committed her heart and soul to God, to reclaiming her life. “It’s my first time in treatment, and it’ll be my last. I made a thousand mistakes, bad decisions, and bad choices, and I’m here to correct them, to fix them.
“I know God still loves me. Now, here at the Mission, I have the opportunity for another chance in life, and I’m ready for it.”
Your compassion and generous support of DRMM have given Bianca the opportunity for a bright future, and she is trusting God to guide her. “I want to go back to school. I want a job and a normal, happy life,” she says with a broad smile.
Every day is a gift! And for her new beginning, Bianca is deeply thankful to the Mission and the many caring friends who choose to support DRMM’s life-changing programs.
