Charlie’s New Beginning in Life!

The holiday season can be a very difficult time for someone who is lost, broken, and believes no one cares . . . like Charlie. But God had a plan for Charlie and led him to DRMM, where he found help and hope for a second chance in life!

“When I came to DRMM, it had to be divine intervention,” Charlie says, shaking his head in wonder. “It was definitely by the spirit that I ended up here.”

After an honorable discharge from military service for health reasons, Charlie sought a new path in life. But a car accident landed him behind bars, plunging him into despair. Once he was released, he felt lost, with nowhere to go and no one to turn to for help.

“I probably was at my lowest as far as just trying to be able to find a stable housing situation.

“But then, the light bulb went off, and what came to my remembrance was Romans 8:28, where it says, ‘We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, who have been called according to his purpose and plan.’ So, it’s not saying we’re guessing or hoping—we know.

“So, that’s what happened . . . that lightbulb went off and something like a spirit kept saying go to DRMM,” Charlie says with a smile. “God brought me here to DRMM, and the rest is history. I feel like for the first time in probably 10 years, I have stability.”

The safe shelter, meals, and Christ-centered care provided by friends like you have put Charlie on a new path in life, and during this Thanksgiving season, his heart is filled with hope.

“I have only good things to say about DRMM,” he says. “It’s given me a chance to get well, to get focused, and to move on to the next stage of life, which is to serve and help others.”
