Other WAYS to Get INvolved

Annual Adopt a Family

Thank you for your interest in this year’s DRMM Christmas Adopt-A-Family program!! We are so thankful and truly grateful for your willingness to help support those in need for the holiday season and we cannot thank you enough!

Last year, through the generosity of individuals, families, churches, and businesses, DRMM was able to help over 500 families from the community and sponsoring over 2,500 children, women, and men who received Christmas hope and gifts!

You are truly a blessing to these families in need and to provide hope and compassion at Christmas time to a deserving family is the best gift anyone can give. Your kindness is truly priceless and your willingness to help cannot be matched by any dollar amount and for that, I am truly grateful.

You can choose to sponsor one or more children, or the entire family. If you aren’t able to provide the minimum requirement of at least 6 items from the list for each child, you can still help by purchasing even just one item for the Holiday Store. Staff and volunteers will use these new donations from the store to make bags with gifts for children and new clients who have not been linked to a sponsor due to the sponsorship deadline.

The program will be on a first come, first serve basis. We will need to have all sponsors that want to participate to respond by September 1st, 2025. Our Christmas party we be on December 12, 2025.

Because of the volume of participants in this program, we will do our best to accommodate special requests for information or additional information. However, we need your help to make this work as smoothly as possible.

We ask that gifts be dropped off during the dates in the signup section. This year we will be having a Christmas event where the parents will be able to bring their kids to pick up their Gifts and take pictures with Santa. Again, thank you for your interest and support of the Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries in this effort. We look forward to working with you as we work to rebuild the community, one life, one heart, at a time.

Read the information above and save it. It has special instructions and information you will need throughout your participation in this year’s program.

Respond below to the Sponsor Information Form by September 1, 2025. This year, the adoption process will start on August 1st, along with the sponsor signup. We will pair sponsors with those applying for the program as we go. We plan to have all sponsors and participants paired no later than the end of October.

Due to the nature of our business, we are very busy during the holiday season and can’t always get to the phone right away. E-mail kwoods@drmm.org if you have questions or concerns or have trouble reaching us by phone during normal business hours.

Please submit your information below by SEPTEMBER 1ST if you are interested in participating this Christmas to help families in need.

Yes.  You will receive gift tags and we ask you to put the child’s name, file number, and the mother’s last name on them.

We ask that each family is bagged in large, thick, black garbage bags.  The wrapped gifts can be placed inside these bags. The family number needs to be on the outside of each bag for identification purposes.  This helps protect the gifts and doesn’t allow to see what is inside.  DO NOT package gifts from more than one family number together.  Be sure to package each family separately.
