A Father’s Hands

Happy Father's Day. A father's love never ends. It lasts forever.

This Father’s Day feels different.

Just days after Juneteenth, I find myself thinking about freedom, sacrifice, and the people who gave more than they ever received so others could have a better life.

And somehow, my thoughts keep returning to fathers.

The truth is many of the greatest men who ever lived will never appear in a history book.

No statue will be built in their honor. No crowd will applaud their name.

Yet they changed the world. Not with speeches. Not with titles. Not with wealth.

But with love.

They woke up tired and went to work anyway. They carried worries they never shared.

They fought battles their children never knew existed. They sacrificed quietly so their families could dream loudly.

Many of us were too young to understand what our fathers were carrying.

We only saw the strong hands. We did not see the weight those hands were holding.

Today, some of us can still pick up the phone and hear our father’s voice.

Others would give anything for that privilege.

One more conversation. One more story. One more piece of advice.

One more hug. One more chance to say, “I love you.”

If your father is still here, tell him what he means to you.

If he has gone home to God, honor him by living the values he planted in your heart.

Because a father’s greatest gift is not what he leaves behind.

It is what he leaves within. His courage becomes your courage.

His lessons become your wisdom. His love becomes your strength.

And long after his footsteps fade from this earth, his legacy continues to walk among us.

Tonight, somewhere, a son is missing his father.

A daughter is remembering his voice. A father is praying for his children.

And Heaven is holding the men we would give anything to see one more time.

So before this day ends, pause for a moment.

Think about the man who helped shape your life.

Remember his sacrifices. Remember his love. Remember his hands.

And if tears come, let them.

Because love this deep never really leaves us.

Happy Father’s Day!!
