At Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries, we believe everyone deserves a safe place to call home. ❤️We were honored to welcome Stephen and Loretta Rodriguez, ages 85 and 79, into a fully furnished home into a fully furnished home after they faced eviction from a property they had invested over $15,000 into through a land contract arrangement. Sadly, the home had fallen into severe disrepair and was not up to city code standards.Their new home included a fully furnished living room, dining room, bedrooms, washer and dryer, new flooring and even a refrigerator stocked with groceries.Thanks to the advocacy of their foster granddaughter Shana Risby, WXYZ-TV Channel 7’ Carolyn Clifford WXYZ, the Elder Justice Alliance of Macomb County, MI, Jennifer Wilczek from Macomb County’s Office of Senior Services, this deserving couple now has a fresh start.They will be rent free for the next two years. ❤️This is what community looks like. 🏠🏠#DRMM #ElderCare #CommunityResources #WXYZChannel7 … See MoreSee Less
