James has lived and worked in Detroit all his life. He has a wide range of skills that helped him excel at work, and he even started a company of his own at one point. But after some toxic relationships and a few difficult years, James ended up on the wrong path. Before long, he’d lost everything—his livelihood, savings, and home.
💙 Thank You, VAAC – Voting Access for All Coalition (VAAC)! 🗳️Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries (DRMM) extends our heartfelt gratitude to our valued community partner, VAAC Voting Access for All Coalition (VAAC), for once again partnering with our shelters to help ensure our clients have access to the ballot box!Recognizing that individuals experiencing housing instability may face barriers to voting, VAAC provided free voter education, registration assistance, and transportation to the polls during early voting and on Election Day. Many of our clients were FIRST TIME voters! Through this impactful partnership:🗳️ 25 clients were transported, assisted, and supported in registering and voting on Election Day.📚 60 clients participated in a voter education workshop covering the ballot, voting rights, and the importance of civic engagement.A special thank you to Angela DavenportExecutive Director of VAAC and her whole team for empowering our clients, removing barriers, and ensuring that every voice has the opportunity to be heard. Together, we are building a stronger, more inclusive community!#drMM #VAAC #votingaccessforall #CivicEngagement #CommunityPartnership … See MoreSee Less
