Affirmations to Our Donors

In exercising the right to privacy of our donor’s confidential information, it is the policy and practice of Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries to assure that:

  • We at DRMM will never trade, share, or sell, rent its donor list or any donor’s personal information with other organizations, foundations, or government-related agencies. The only time when we will share or sell personal information is once the donor gives us specific permission to do so.
  • All donor transactions are collected through a computerized system that maintains a high level of secured technology that protects sensitive donor information for authorized internal and external usage strictly monitored by DRMM donor processing professionals.
  • This policy is comprehensive and applies to donor information collected both online and offline.

Purpose of Our Donor Privacy Policy

The Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries would like to thank the thousands of individuals and organizations for their donations, prayers, and volunteer efforts to help us transform lives of people who are in need of our services. At DRMM, we respect the privacy and confidentiality rights of our donors. To protect your privacy in the best way possible, we provide this notice explaining our donor information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on our homepage and at every point where personally identifiable information may be requested. The information we collect will be used only for the purposes for which it was given and we assure that our donor’s privacy rights and confidential information are safeguarded and well-protected.

How and Why We Collect Donor Information and the Safeguards We Use

We at DRMM have taken the necessary steps to prevent unauthorized access, maintain data security, and ensure the correct use of information. We have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information that we collect. Notice has been applied to all information submitted or collected on the DRMM website.

On some online pages you can make requests and register to receive materials. The types of sensitive personal information collected at these pages are:

  1. Donor name
  2. Donor address
  3. Donor Email address
  4. Donor Phone number
  5. Donor Fax Number
  6. Donor Credit/Debit Card information

The information we collect is used only to communicate with our donors or potential donors, and to do an internal evaluation of our giving information programs. Only DRMM Donor Processing professionals have direct access to this information. In protecting your privacy and security, DRMM will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections.

How to Remove Yourself from our Donor Records

We at DRMM will remove, upon request from an authorized user, a person or organization from our mailing or contact lists. If donors or other entities wish to be removed, call our Donor Relations Department at (313) 993-4700 or contact us electronically by selecting the hyperlink and follow the steps listed below:

  1. Indicate request type
  2. Donor I.D. Number
  3. Donor name
  4. Email address (if applicable)
  5. Phone number
  6. Fax number (If applicable)
  7. Write a brief explanation regarding the reason for the request.

Use Limitations
This Site and the materials and information available on or through it are provided by DRMM as a service to its users. Except as expressly permitted, a user may not modify, copy, distribute, transmit, reproduce, publish, license, transfer, sell, mirror, frame, or otherwise use any information obtained from this Site.

As a further condition of use of this Site, all users warrant to DRMM that they will not use this Site for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these terms and disclaims any responsibility for the content, the accuracy of the information, and/or quality of products or services provided by or advertised on these third-party web sites.

Terms and Termination from Use of DRMM Web Site to Make Donations
This agreement will take effect at the time the user begins using this site (indicating acceptance of these terms and conditions). DRMM reserves the right at any time to deny any user access to this site or any portion thereof, and to terminate this agreement.

Note – the Terms and Termination from Use section does not pertain to offline donations to DRMM
